My brother handed me down his old 2003 Ducati 620ie and I'm considering to give it an 880cc setup. So far, I only got the 92mm 11:1 HC pistons, 2007 800 crank, and 2004 Monster cylinder heads. Are these parts of any use for my intended build? Which parts should I focus on next? I know it's a long way to go but I'm also working on a budget. If anyone here has worked on something similar, I'd appreciate your advice!

This is an exciting build! Those parts should help, but you may want to check compatibility, especially with the crank and heads. Have you thought about upgrading the fueling and ECU to match the displacement bump? this is important for engine reliability and performance,

Good luck on the build and keep us posted on the progress if you can!

The 92mm pistons and 800 crank are spot on for the 880cc displacement, and the 2004 Monster heads are a decent upgrade over the stock 620 heads, offering better flow potential. They'll certainly be useful! Next, I'd focus on camshafts, like something with a bit more lift and duration to really wake up that 880cc. Web Cam Racing Cams or similar aftermarket options might be worth looking into. You'll also need to consider your fueling. Like what @hazy-h0pes implied, the stock ECU will struggle, so a tunable ECU like a Microtec or a re-flash of your existing unit is crucial. Finally, don't forget about reinforcing the clutch and potentially upgrading the oil cooler, especially if you plan on riding it hard! Good luck!

This is right, you're off to a good start with those pistons. Since you're on a budget, prioritize intake/exhaust flow and engine management after the core mechanical parts . Others who've done this usually say getting the fueling dialed in early saves headaches down the line

I agree with them! Make sure the cylinders and cases fit the larger bore and stroke and that the spaces and oil paths match up correctly.
