Who else is using a Monster to commute.
What are your tips & tricks?
I just warm up for about 90 Sec while I am putting on my helmet & gloves.

I don't like to split so much, but when traffic comes to a standstill you have to move.
Just try not to be a savage about it :<)

I hope I'm not chiming in too late. I used to commute on a Monster 620 for a few years and it really taught me patience and timing. Your warm up routine sounds good. These bikes don't need to idle for long but letting the oil circulate for a minute before you head out is a good idea. I usually avoided lane splitting unless traffic was completely stopped and even then I kept it slow and predictable. The 620's clutch can get a bit grabby in stop-and-go traffic, so I'd shift to neutral at long lights to give my wrist a break. Do you ride all year or park the bike during the snowy months?

Our old Monster is fun but not super forgiving in stop-and-go. I carry a clutch lever feel in mind and feather the throttle. Use a power mode (if your bike has one) that softens throttle response in traffic.

1-2 minutes is good.
