BIN file loaded but trouble finding xdf

So I was able to get the BIN file pulled without any issues, but now I'm stuck trying to track down the right XDF to actually make sense of it. I've looked through a few repositories and even tried a couple that were close, but either the maps don't line up or things end up looking like complete gibberish. It's one of those situations where you know the data is there, but without the proper xdf it's basically useless. I'm not sure if I'm missing an obvious source for these, or if I'm going to have to build one from scratch (which feels like a mountain to climb right now by the way)
So please ask, any pointers before I lose an entire weekend clicking through hex values?

I've been in the same spot! I was helping a friend with his old GM drag car, got the BIN file easy, but finding the right XDF was tough. What helped was looking through forums like GearHead EFI and old TunerPro files. Sometimes the good stuff is hidden in old posts. If nothing matches, try lining up other XDFs to build your own. It takes time, but it's better than guessing through hex.

Before tuning, double-check your ecu model and firmware. Tiny differences can mess with the map. Use IAWDiag or ECUReader to get the right firmware ID and checksum.

I agree with @AlexGabriel about checking the ECU part number of software version number from your bike first. The BIN file itself will have a string in the header that gives you a clue, then compare that string to the XDF files you've found.

The XDFs for the newer bikes with the Marelli ECU can be a real pain to track down, especially if it's not a super common model.. a lot of the maps got tweaked slightly year to year. There are some companies that sell XDF files or fine tuning packages. It's not a free solution, but sites like OldSkullTuning or Ziptuning often have a database you can search. They've already done the hard work of building the definitions so I think it's a solid last resort before you consider building one from scratch!!
