Ducati Monster 796 running rough

I just bought a Ducati Monster 796, but after only 570 miles, it started stalling and running incredibly rough. yep, a sign of rich fuel mixture.
It died at a light and barely made it home.

turns out, MotorCafe in Sunnyvale found a cracked manifold air hose during the 600mile service. the vacuum leak was tricking the ECU into thinking the bike was lean, so it dumped in way too much fuel to compensate.
with a new hose installed, it finally runs like a buttered sewing machine. If your M796 is stalling or running rich, check those air hoses first!

When something like that fails on a machine with barely a few miles, it iss usually because of a defect in the rubber or a clamp that got cranked down too hard at the factory.

Afaik, once a rubber tube cracks, the extra air enters into the engine. The computer detects and dumps in more fuel to keep things from overheating.
