Fuel pump replacement for 2020 Monster 821

My 2020 Monster 821 has been having some stuttering and hesitation under hard acceleration, especially in the higher gears. It feels like it's starving for fuel. I've checked the the spark plugs and air filter, but everything looks good. I'm starting to think it might be a failing fuel pump. I've heard they can be a weak point on these bikes? I'm here to ask for recommendations on a good aftermarket fuel pump. Hopefully I don't need to spend a fortune on a replacement, but I want something reliable that will last. Are there any particular brands or models that are known to be a good fit for the M821? Any tips on the replacement process would also be appreciated! Thanks in advance for any help!

So, heads up, Monster 821 fuel pumps tend to break. If you're looking for something better, the Walbro 255lph or DW200 pumps are solid choices. Just make sure to check your fuel pressure before swapping anything out to be sure it's really the pump that's gone bad

Based on the symptoms and its age, replacing the pump seems like the best move.

I had the same problem with my 2019 Monster 821 after riding through the canyons near Malibu. The bike would stutter when I gave it gas. It turned out the fuel pump was going bad.

I replaced it with a Walbro GSS342. It works well and fits with a few small changes. I also started using fuel stabilizer like Lucas or Motul to help keep the pump in good shape. Try not to let your tank get too low, these pumps need fuel to stay cool.

Just so you know. While testing the fuel pressure is a good way to find out if the fuel pump is ok, It can be misleading as to diagnosing the actual problem.
Last month i had a 821 in my shop with severe bogging problems when on acceleration. I tested the fuel pressure and it was at 19 lbs instead of 46lbs as it should be. I replaced the pump only (not the housing) and again tested the pressure (46 lbs) I thought that the problem was solved. I then tested the bike only to find that the problem was still active. But this time i noticed that a noisy buzz sound coming from the fuel tank even with the engine running. (the sound was coming from the fuel pressure regulator releasing fuel pressure back into the tank at a excessive rate) So i ordered a complete fuel pump assembly - this solved the problem. I decided to cut open the original fuel pump housing to diagnose the issue - this is what i found - The housing has a non replaceable fuel filter and it was completely blocked.

And make sure that the fuel tank cap is properly closed and the the fuel tank cap water drain is not blocked as water can accumulate around the cap area and get into the tank when you open the cap. The fuel pumps on Monster 821 - 1200 - And Panigale models all suffer from this issue.
