Immobilizer help needed

I'm fixing up a 2004 Monster 620 here in North Carolina. Got it from a friend who lost the keys, including the red one. Now the immobilizer won't let the bike start. I tried using an OBD2 cable and some software, but nothing works. Is there a Bluetooth tool that can talk to the ECU on these older bikes? Thanks!

That's a very tough spot.. unfortunately, without the red master key or at the very least, the code card with the five-digit electronic code, you can't program new keys. The immobilizer, ECU, and gauge cluster are all married to each other.. it's a security feature of their system. I think your best option is to find a specialist shop that can either re-flash the ECU to remove the immobilizer function entirely or create new keys and program them. A local Ducati dealer might also be able to help, but it will be expensive. The OBD2 software you're using probably isn't capable of this level of programming, so don't waste more time on it. You should be looking for a physical solution here, not a software one.

Sadly, regular Bluetooth OBD readers usually can't connect to the Monster 620's ecu. This ecu needs special diagnostic software and a serial or usb link instead of the usual Bluetooth OBD2.
