Over 16 states already declaring emergencies, I really want to urge everyone to stay off the roads once the freezing rain and snow begin. We’re seeing serious ice threats stretching from Texas all the way to the Carolinas. If you don't absolutely have to be out, please just stay hunkered down at home; the plows will have a much easier time if the roads are clear of stranded vehicles. Stay safe and warm everyone.

I wish I could stay home and hunker down, but the hospital doesn't close for snow. I packed an overnight bag and headed early to make sure I don't get stuck on the highway before my shift. Please, if you don't have to be out, stay off the roads.
