my cousin has a 2015 ducati monster. he’s put over 9000 trouble free miles on just threw a major fit. The previous owner had the ECU flashed, so it didn't need a chipped key, and it’s been perfect for a year.
It died last week. We swapped the old, seven year old battery, and it fired right up for three days. Then, bam! no spark again. We even tried the expensive battery from my bike, cranks like a champ, but still zero spark.
Now, the immobilizer LED is blinking and staying on. It looks like the immobilizer, which was supposed to be disabled, just woke up and bricked the bike!
He only paid $1,700 for the bike, so the ROI is great, but the official fix is $3k+ (new ECU, keys, etc.). Has anyone had an immobilizer resurrection like this? Any low cost, Hail Mary fixes before we give up on this awesome beast? Help us save the Monster!
