I sold my 800 model last year and I really want to get back on a Ducati. I found a 2007 S2R1000 listed locally for 5000 dollars with 16000 miles on the odometer. It still has the stock exhaust but the seller mentioned it needs a new rear shock soon. I am thinking about buying it because I miss the feel of these bikes so much. I have spent time reading professional reviews online but I want to get advice from actual owners. The price feels right for the condition and the mileage but I want to be sure it is a good move. I am trying to decide if this specific bike is the right one to bring me back to the brand.

The S2R1000 is a good choice if you want to get back into Ducati because it has that classic air cooled feel without being too complex and the mileage you listed is normal for its age.

Do you know anyone who's good with bikes too? Have someone go check it with you. Ask for service records.
