Is a Ducati Monster 696 a good beginner bike?

This is a great day cause I just got my license, and next, I'm looking for my first bike. I’ve found a 2009 Ducati Monster 696 with under 5k miles for a great price.
I’ve been practicing on my dad’s Honda Rebel 300, but I’m still a total newbie when it comes to mechanics and bike specs. I’m down to grab some repair manuals and learn, but is a Ducati too much to handle for a first-timer?

Is this a solid starter, or do you guys have a better recos?

I do not recommend getting a secondhand bike as your first bike. Don't get me wrong, it is a good bike, but it has specific service needs like timing belts and valve adjustments that are much more expensive and complicated than the Rebel.

I agree with @n0tlike0therdrivers unless you are prepared for higher repair bills. How about getting a Suzuki SV650? It has a similar engine but is significantly cheaper to run especially for a newbie like you.

OP, I can tell you that Ducati Monster is okay for a new rider, but the problem is that secondhand bikes are a money pit and a repair/service nightmare
