My oil light is on and no oil is moving!

I really need some help with my bike's oil problem because it is driving me crazy. A few months back, just before I got home from a ride, the red oil light kept popping up on my dash. I figured I would start simple, so I replaced the oil pressure sensor but that did not fix it.

Now I see that when the engine is running, the oil level in the sight glass does not drop at all. This means oil is not circulating and I only run the engine for a few seconds to check this. I already pulled the main oil filter and the little mesh screen filter on the side and everything looked clear with no obvious blockages. I was going to look at the oil pump next but I took all the bolts off the clutch cover and I just cannot get the case off even after tapping it with a rubber mallet. Has anyone dealt with this exact issue before, and is the oil pump the logical next step for me to check?

Since you've attempted the simple fixes, the oil pump is what you need to inspect next, coz it’s the only part that can stop oil from circulating while the level remains high. Now for the stubborn clutch cover, it's common for the old gasket or even the locating dowel pins to stick it tight to the case and you should try carefully heating the case with a hair dryer around the dowels and then using a thin, wooden wedge or a plastic scraper at the joint to break the seal while you gently tap with the rubber mallet, but whatever you do, avoid prying on the delicate aluminum surface.
