Ducati monster 796 clutch cover bolt snapped

I was installing an aftermarket clutch cover on my Ducati Monster 796 and a bolt snapped off in the crankcase.
I set my wrench to 9 Nm as recommended for M6 engine cover bolts, but the bolt broke, leaving me with a clean break and a difficult extraction.
I wonder, was 9 Nm the correct torque for an M6 clutch cover bolt on a Monster 796? is this a common issue with cheap bolts, or was my technique/torque wrench to blame?
can anyone recommend a small, reliable torque wrench suitable for these low range (under 10 Nm) engine bolts?
I need to be sure before I touch the ignition cover. Thanks!

Try checking CDI made by Snap-On or Tekton, ACDelco Norbar.

It iss best to use a small quarter inch drive torque wrench that works between 2 and 20 Nm because it gives steadier control when tightening delicate parts
