So I have bought the bike used with 350 mileage and as I ride it to engine break in, I noticed that the exhaust is "poppy", almost on every deceleration so I assume that its too much.

Checking the slip on to muffler, I saw that it's welded on and was done poorly.

Please advice me on further actions. The bike is past its warranty and the only thing it has is an extended service contract - street coverage.

That's fuel getting burned outside the combustion chamber and if it's a mild popping then it's nothing to be worried about. If it's not, then I'm guessing the poor welding job is letting air in and causing that. Recheck the welds and have them redone by a professional, or yourself if you have the skills and tools. I'd also check if there's a map because most people do a tune after doing mods to the exaust.

Had my first service and they said nothing about it. Had the dealership ride it as well but they mention nothing wrong with it..

If you don't want to dump cash, just pull the pipe, clean up the joint, and reseal with exhaust paste or a clamp if you can cut the bad weld. Not pretty, but it'll tell you quick if the leak's the real problem before you go spending on tunes or new cans.
