I was reading some thoughts from Brad Black about why he refuses to work on newer bikes like the 2019 V4. Even when regular customers ask he politely says no because he prefers to stick with what he knows best. Working on late model designs requires different tools and learning new habits which takes up a lot of valuable time. He feels that if he worked on a bike without knowing every detail he might accidentally damage it through simple ignorance. It is interesting to see a specialist draw such a hard line even when the bike still says Ducati on the tank. He views it as a completely different machine that has almost nothing in common with the older models he masters every day.
