Why the air cooled Monster still wins

I still find myself looking at the old air cooled Monsters even with all the new tech out there. Something about the simple look and the way the engine feels when you twist the throttle makes it exciting, right? And they are easier to work on in your own garage and they have that classic trellis frame that started it all. But... some people say the newer liquid cooled bikes are just better for daily riding in traffic.

Do you think the old school air cooled feel is worth the extra maintenance or do you prefer the modern one?

The simpler engine actually makes me more connected to the road because I can hear every mechanical click and pop. There is no radiator hiding the engine fins and that raw look is what a Ducati is all about for me. I do my own oil changes in about 20 minutes and never have to worry about coolant leaks.
